What a great day of off-road racing yesterday at the Janice Woods Moyston Short Course!
Unfortunately, with the track becoming impassable as the day went on, we had to make the tough decision to shorten the event to just two heats. But that certainly didn’t stop the action!
There was still plenty of great racing, mud, laughs and some seriously challenging conditions for our competitors to tackle.
OUTRIGHT RESULTS
A huge congratulations to #678 – Darren Franklin & Rob Hackney, who once again managed to hold off #675 – Glenn & Blake Pike to take the outright win!
After two heats of racing, there was just 8.9 seconds separating the top two cars! It was another great battle between the two crews right to the end.
1st Outright – #678 Darren Franklin & Rob Hackney
2nd Outright – #675 Glenn & Blake Pike
3rd Outright – #158 Steve & Jackson Crowe, who stormed home to claim the final spot on the outright podium!
A fantastic effort from all three crews and every competitor who took on what became some very challenging Moyston conditions.
Huge thanks again to B & C Excavations Vic for donating all the trophies!
A massive THANK YOU to all of our competitors, officials, volunteers, recovery crews, spectators and sponsors who helped make the event possible.
And, of course, a very special thank you to Murray and Janice for once again allowing us to race on their property and for their continued support of GORBA and off-road racing.
It might not have been the full day of racing we had planned, but there was certainly no shortage of action!

Alistair managed to predict his two-lap time to within a spectacular… 0.5 OF A SECOND!
What an incredible effort from a young driver with arguably the least amount of seat time behind the wheel of anyone taking on the challenge! There might be a few experienced drivers wondering how the young bloke managed to show them all how it’s done!

With the shortened day and some very challenging track conditions, 12 of competitors still managed to get the job done and earn their spot in the draw.
